Product Details

Diwali Fun Time is a printable pack for Little Stars aged 4 to 6 who are not yet reading alone. Every page uses big pictures, short instructions a grown-up can read aloud, and tick boxes, circles and tracing, so children can join in even while their reading is still growing.

Children count and add diyas, share laddoos and barfi fairly, join the dots to draw a lamp, copy rangoli patterns on dot grids and finish mirror rangolis. They hear how Rama and Sita came home to a lit-up Ayodhya, put the story in order, and learn the five days of Diwali: Dhanteras, Choti Diwali, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj.

Hands-on pages make the learning stick: a lift-the-flame sums game, a rangoli spinner top that mixes colours, a Diwali dice cube with action cards, a story wheel with four festival-of-light stories, a sweet shop to cut out and serve, and a roll-and-colour rangoli game for two players.

The pack is told with respect for the families who celebrate. It shows how Hindu, Jain and Sikh families, and families in Nepal, light lamps in their own ways, and it includes a fire-safety page and a Kind to Earth page. Dates change each year with the moon calendar, and the pack says so.

Pages are marked Warm-up, Challenge or Expert so you can start easy and level up. A certificate and a full answer key for grown-ups finish the pack. The black-and-white edition keeps ink use low and gives children the pictures to colour in themselves.
