Navratri Worksheets (Ages 4–11)
Navratri worksheets are printable activity sheets for children aged 4 to 11 based on the nine-night Hindu festival of Navratri. They use garba, dandiya, diyas and the nine day colours for counting, maths, reading, logic puzzles, colouring and crafts, so festival time also builds number, reading and thinking skills.
Sharad Navratri 2026 runs for nine nights, from Sunday 11 October to Monday 19 October, and Dussehra (Vijayadashami) follows on Tuesday 20 October. Schools across India decorate classrooms, children dress in the colour of the day and evenings fill with garba and dandiya. The worksheets on this page bring that festival to the table: a four-year-old counts diyas and colours a garba dancer, while a ten-year-old works out dates on the nine-colour calendar, solves a dandiya logic puzzle or reads the legend of Durga and Mahishasura. Every sheet is a printable PDF, with Warm-up, Challenge and Expert levels on the pack pages.

What children learn through Navratri worksheets
Younger children aged 4 to 6 count diyas, marigolds and dandiya sticks, add and share laddoos, trace numbers, follow a short garba story and colour the nine day colours. Children aged 7 to 11 use the same festival for multiplication and money at the mela, time and budgets for garba night, fractions and chance with the nine colours, logic grids, sudoku and coding puzzles, and reading questions on the Durga legend.
- Counting, adding and sharing with diyas, marigolds and laddoos (ages 4–6)
- Colour words and colour mixing with the nine colours of Navratri
- Calendar maths with the real 2026 dates and weekdays (ages 7–11)
- Logic, coding and STEM: pixel puzzles, arrow coding, a paper pandal challenge
- Reading comprehension: Meera’s garba night and the legend of Durga
How to use Navratri worksheets over the nine nights
Nine nights suit a little-and-often plan: one or two pages each evening before garba, finishing with the certificate on Dussehra. Match the colour pages to the colour of the day, keep the board game and picture cards for family evenings, and save the crafts, such as a paper toran or a garba-pot light experiment, for the weekend. Every page names the colours in words, so the black-and-white editions work just as well for colouring in.
- Print the colour calendar first and pin it up for the nine days
- Start with Warm-up pages and move to Challenge and Expert when ready
- Use the answer key pages to check work together
Frequently asked questions
What age are Navratri worksheets for?
The Navratri worksheets on this page suit children aged 4 to 11. Pages for ages 4 to 6 (LKG, UKG and Class 1) focus on counting, colours, tracing, a short story and simple crafts. Pages for ages 7 to 11 (Class 2 to Class 5) cover multiplication, money, time, fractions, logic puzzles, coding, reading comprehension and hands-on science and engineering challenges.
When is Navratri in 2026?
Sharad Navratri 2026 begins on Sunday 11 October and the ninth night is Monday 19 October. Dussehra, also called Vijayadashami, is on Tuesday 20 October 2026. Navratri follows the Hindu lunisolar calendar, so its dates move each year between late September and October. Families in some regions may mark slightly different dates.
What are the nine colours of Navratri 2026?
For Navratri 2026, starting on Sunday 11 October, the commonly followed colours are orange, white, red, royal blue, yellow, green, grey, purple and peacock green, one for each day in that order. The colour of each day follows the weekday the festival starts on, and some regions follow a different list, so check what your community uses.
How can I explain Navratri to a young child with worksheets?
Pair a simple story with a hands-on task. Read that Navratri means nine nights, then let the child colour one diya for each night, count the dandiya sticks or colour a garba dancer in the colour of the day. Children aged 4 to 6 remember festivals best through repeated, practical activity, so a short page each evening works better than a long explanation.
Are there black-and-white Navratri worksheets for colouring?
Yes. The Navratri activity packs come in a colour edition and a black-and-white colour-in edition with line-art pictures, and each worksheet page has both versions. The black-and-white pages use less printer ink and every colour is written as a word, so children can colour the pictures in themselves without missing anything in the activity.
