This hands-on craft worksheet introduces children ages 3-5 to the basic idea that the Earth orbits the Sun while the Moon orbits the Earth, an early astronomy concept made concrete through building a working model. Assembling the pieces themselves, rather than just looking at a picture, helps very young children grasp a concept that is otherwise entirely abstract.
