Story Sequencing Worksheet for Kids: Arrange the Pictures!
Arranging four pictures into the correct story order asks children to reason about cause and effect and hold an entire short narrative in mind, a skill directly tied to reading comprehension since understanding 'what happened first, then next' is exactly how children follow storybooks. For ages three to five, this kind of visual sequencing is often an easier entry point into narrative thinking than sequencing with only words.

How to use this worksheet
Look at each set of four pictures together and describe out loud what is happening in every individual image before your child decides on an order. Have your child write the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the circles to show which picture comes first, second, third, and last in the story. Once numbered, ask your child to retell the full story in order, pointing to each picture as they describe what happens. Repeat this process for any additional picture sets on the page.
