The Three Little Pigs Storytelling Worksheet for Preschoolers
This storytelling worksheet helps children ages 3-5 practice narrative sequencing and oral language skills by retelling the classic tale of the Three Little Pigs in their own words, using picture prompts as a guide. Putting a familiar story into their own sentences builds comprehension and expressive vocabulary far more actively than just listening to the story read aloud. The cut-and-paste sequencing option adds a second layer of practice with story order.

How to use this worksheet
Look at each picture in the story sequence together and ask your child what is happening in that scene. Encourage your child to narrate the story in their own words, picture by picture, using their own sentences rather than repeating memorized lines. If using the cut-and-paste option, have your child cut out the story pictures and arrange them in the correct order before gluing them into place. Finish by having your child retell the whole story from start to finish using the completed sequence as a guide.

Extension activities
- 1Have your child draw their own houses for the pigs.
- 2Act out the story using puppets or toys.
- 3Read the story together and discuss the different events.
- 4Build a house out of building blocks and talk about which materials are strong versus weak, like straw versus bricks.
- 5Ask your child what they would do differently if they were one of the pigs.
