How to use this worksheet
Cut out the flashcards and look at each one together, naming the stage shown and describing how it looks different from the others. Ask your child which stage they think comes first and help them lay the cards out in the correct growing order. Point out how different the larva looks from the round, spotted adult ladybug, since this surprises many children. Once ordered, mix the cards and have your child try rebuilding the sequence independently.

- 2Research other insect life cycles, like butterflies or beetles, and compare them.
