Life Cycle Crossword Puzzle for Kids: Identify and Complete!
This crossword challenges children ages 4-6 to connect a picture clue to its written word, strengthening both vocabulary recall and early spelling of life cycle terms like egg, caterpillar, or tadpole. Fitting letters into the numbered crossword boxes also builds letter-space awareness, helping children understand that each box holds exactly one letter. Together these skills bridge picture recognition and independent word writing, a key step for pre-readers moving toward reading fluency.

How to use this worksheet
Look at each picture clue with your child and say the word out loud together before writing anything. Count the boxes in the crossword next to that clue to check the word has the right number of letters. Write the word one letter per box, working through the across and down clues one at a time. When finished, review the completed puzzle together and talk about what each animal's picture shows about its life stage.

Complete the Words: A Fun Worksheet for Early Readers!
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
This worksheet helps children ages 3-5 practice early letter recognition and phonics as they look at a picture and fill in the missing letters to complete an animal-themed word. Saying the finished word aloud after writing it connects the written letters to their spoken sounds, reinforcing the link between reading and speaking that underlies early literacy.
Lifecycle Circle Book: Cut & Paste Activity for Early Learners
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
Children ages 3-5 explore the stages of human growth — baby, child, teenager, and adult — by building a hands-on circular lifecycle book. Applying the same 'lifecycle' concept they may know from animals to people themselves helps children make a meaningful, personal connection to the idea of growing and changing over time.
Lifecycle Circle Book: Cut & Paste Activity for Preschoolers
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
Building this circle book helps children ages 3-5 understand that a plant's life cycle is a repeating loop rather than a straight line — a seed grows into a sprout, then a mature plant, which produces seeds of its own to start the cycle again. Cutting out and assembling the circles in order also develops scissor control and hand-eye coordination. Framing the plant's growth as a 'book' gives children a tangible object they can flip through to retell the sequence in their own words.
Frog Life Cycle Cut and Paste Worksheet for Preschoolers
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
Children ages 3-5 learn the four stages of a frog's life cycle — egg, tadpole, froglet, and adult frog — while practicing sequencing and precise pasting skills. This worksheet is especially useful for illustrating dramatic physical change, since a tadpole looks almost nothing like an adult frog, which helps children grasp that growth can transform an animal significantly.
Housefly Life Cycle Flashcards Worksheet for Kids
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
These flashcards teach children ages 3-5 the four stages of a housefly's life cycle, egg, larva, pupa, and adult fly, giving them a concrete, sequential science concept using an insect they likely encounter often in daily life. Learning that a familiar insect goes through such distinct changes also builds curiosity and reduces the instinct to simply dismiss it.
Sunflower Life Cycle Flashcard Worksheet for Kids
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
Seeing a sunflower's life cycle laid out as stages — seed, sprout, growing stem, full bloom — introduces a 3-5 year old to the idea of sequence and change over time, a concept that shows up again in stories, science, and even daily routines. It's also many children's first encounter with the idea that a plant is alive and changing, not just a static thing.
Life Cycle Stages Worksheet: Identify and Sequence!
Ages 4-6 · Pre-K–KindergartenAges 4-6 · Reception–Year 1Ages 4-6 · LKG–UKGAges 4-6
This worksheet asks children ages 4-6 to identify what life-cycle stage is shown in each individual picture and then number a whole set of pictures into the correct growth sequence, moving beyond simple matching into independent ordering and logical reasoning. Because the worksheet likely mixes several different animals' or plants' stages, it also asks children to recognize what type of life cycle a picture belongs to before sequencing it.
Animal Q&A Worksheet for Kids: Learn About Snakes, Fish, and More!
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
This worksheet builds early reading comprehension and animal knowledge in children ages 3-5 as they answer simple questions about snakes, fish, and other animals using picture clues. Answering varied questions about multiple animals, rather than one, helps children practice applying the same comprehension skill flexibly across different content.

Push or Pull Worksheet: Identify Actions!
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
Deciding whether an action shown in a picture is a push or a pull introduces children ages 3-5 to a basic physics concept, force and motion, by having them classify everyday actions like opening a door or pulling a wagon. This early science reasoning requires children to picture the direction an object is moving relative to the person acting on it, which builds spatial thinking alongside scientific vocabulary. Learning to categorize actions this way is a first step toward understanding cause and effect in the physical world.
Animal Action Cards: Fun Movement Worksheet for Kids!
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
These animal action cards get children ages 3-5 moving as they follow simple instructions, like hopping like a rabbit or slithering like a snake, combining gross motor development with listening and instruction-following skills. Because each card requires reading or recalling a specific action tied to a specific animal, children also reinforce animal vocabulary and movement-based descriptive language. Turning learning into physical movement is especially valuable for this age group, whose attention and retention often improve dramatically when a body movement is involved.

This worksheet helps children ages 3-5 build observation and reasoning skills as they read a simple question or clue about an animal and match it to the correct picture.
