Paper Bag Bunny Craft Worksheet for Preschoolers

This paper bag craft has children ages 3-5 follow a multi-step sequence of instructions — attaching a pom pom nose, spoon ears, googly eyes, and whisker details — while practicing the fine motor control needed to place and glue small materials precisely. Because the craft uses several different textures and materials in one project, children also get sensory-rich practice beyond typical paper-and-crayon activities. Successfully completing each step in order builds confidence in following sequential, multi-part directions.

How to use this worksheet

Gather all the craft materials together first so your child can see and touch each item before starting. Read through the steps one at a time, helping your child glue the pom pom nose, attach the plastic spoon ears, and add the googly eyes in the order listed. Use the black sketch pen together to add whiskers and a mouth once the glued pieces have dried. Step back and admire the finished paper bag bunny together, naming each part your child added.

Materials needed

  • Paper Bag
  • A pom pom for nose
  • 2 plastic spoons for ears
  • 2 googly eyes
  • Pink paper or colour for inside of the ears
  • Glue
  • Black Sketch pen for Whiskers and mouth

Extension activities

  • •Create different animal paper bag crafts using similar materials but different shapes and features.
  • •Use different materials to decorate the bunny, like fabric scraps or yarn for fur.
  • •Write or dictate a short story about your paper bag bunny's adventures.
  • •Put on a simple puppet show using the finished paper bag bunny.
  • •Make a bunny family by creating a few bunnies of different sizes.

Tips for parents and teachers

Encourage children to be creative and have fun with material placement rather than insisting on a perfectly symmetrical result, since following the steps matters more than precision at this age. Provide assistance as needed and supervise the use of glue and scissors closely, since small materials like googly eyes and pom poms can be a choking hazard for younger siblings nearby. Let your child handle as many steps independently as safely possible to build their sense of accomplishment.
