Demonstrative Pronouns Worksheet for Preschoolers
Choosing between 'this,' 'that,' 'these,' and 'those' teaches children ages 3-5 an early grammar concept tied directly to physical space — near versus far, and one item versus many. How to use this worksheet
Look at the first picture together and ask your child whether the object shown is close by or far away, and whether it's one item or several. Read the sentence aloud, pausing at the blank, and have your child choose the demonstrative pronoun that fits best. Guide them to write or circle their chosen word in the space provided, then read the finished sentence back together to check that it sounds right. Repeat this same look-decide-write process for each remaining picture and sentence on the page.
