Dinosaur Grain Painting Worksheet for Kids
Sticking individual grains like rice or lentils onto a dinosaur outline is a sensory-rich fine motor task that asks for a precise pinch-and-place motion very different from painting or crayon coloring, building the same small-muscle control used later for holding scissors and a pencil. How to use this worksheet
Set out a few different types of grains, like rice and lentils, in separate small bowls. Have your child add a thin layer of glue to a section of the dinosaur picture. Show them how to pick up grains a few at a time and press them onto the glued area, filling in the dinosaur and the surrounding scene. Let each section dry before moving to the next, and encourage using different grains or colors for extra visual interest.

- 1Sort the different grains by size or color into separate bowls before starting the craft.
