Fruit Salad Fun: A Recipe Worksheet for Kids
This worksheet uses a simple fruit salad recipe to teach children ages 3-5 how to follow a sequence of steps in order, a skill that underlies both reading comprehension and later procedural thinking in math and science. It also introduces healthy eating concepts as children name and draw the fruits that go into their salad.

How to use this worksheet
Read through the numbered recipe steps together, pointing to each picture or word as you go so your child connects the print to the action. Ask your child to draw or write the name of each fruit mentioned in the recipe in the spaces provided, in the same order the steps describe. Once the worksheet is complete, use it as your actual shopping or prep list and make the real fruit salad together, checking off each step as you do it. Talk through what 'first,' 'next,' and 'last' mean as you go.
Materials needed
- Pencil
- Crayons

Extension activities
- 1Make the real fruit salad together, letting your child wash the fruit and stir the mixing bowl.
- 2Go on a grocery store hunt to find each fruit from the recipe and count how many you buy.
- 3Create a 'recipe card' for a different favorite snack using the same first-next-last format.
- 4Taste-test the finished salad and graph which fruit was everyone's favorite using stickers or tally marks.

Soap & Pepper Science Experiment Worksheet for Preschoolers
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
This simple experiment introduces children ages 3-5 to the basic science of surface tension and how soap breaks it, using pepper flakes sprinkled on water as a visual demonstration. Watching the pepper scatter away the instant soap touches the water gives children a concrete, memorable example of cause and effect, an early building block for scientific thinking.
Corn Seed Addition Worksheet for Preschoolers
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
Counting corn seeds on two ears of corn and combining them into one total teaches children ages 3-5 the core concept of addition as joining groups together, using a concrete, countable image rather than abstract numerals alone. This worksheet also builds one-to-one correspondence, since accurate addition depends on touching or pointing to each seed exactly once while counting.
3D Shapes Worksheet: Explore and Learn with Playdough!
Ages 4-6 · Pre-K–KindergartenAges 4-6 · Reception–Year 1Ages 4-6 · LKG–UKGAges 4-6
This worksheet teaches children ages 4-6 the basic components of 3D shapes — vertices, edges, and faces — by having them count each feature on shapes like cubes and cones, then build matching shapes out of playdough. Physically constructing a shape and counting its parts by hand builds a far deeper understanding of geometry than looking at flat pictures alone, since children can touch and rotate what they've made.
CVC Train Worksheet: Write CVC Words!
Ages 4-6 · Pre-K–KindergartenAges 4-6 · Reception–Year 1Ages 4-6 · LKG–UKGAges 4-6
Writing consonant-vowel-consonant words like 'cat,' 'sun,' or 'pig' under matching pictures gives children ages 4-6 direct practice with letter-sound blending, a core phonics skill that underpins independent reading. Because each train car pairs a picture clue with a blank space, children also practice translating a spoken word they can sound out into its correctly spelled written form.
Soap & Pepper Science Experiment Worksheet for Preschoolers
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
This hands-on demonstration shows children ages 3-5 how soap disrupts water's surface tension, using floating pepper as a simple, visible indicator of the change. Because the reaction happens instantly and dramatically, it gives young children a strong, memorable first experience with predicting an outcome and then observing whether their prediction was right.
Easter Egg Color by Hints Worksheet for Preschoolers
Ages 3-5 · Preschool–Pre-KAges 3-5 · Nursery–ReceptionAges 3-5 · Nursery–LKGAges 3-5
This worksheet has children ages 3-5 listen to or read simple written hints describing shapes and colors, then apply that information correctly while coloring each Easter egg, building early reading comprehension and the ability to follow multi-step verbal instructions. Because the hints must be followed precisely rather than colored freely, children also practice patience and careful attention to detail.
