Leafy Elephant Craft Worksheet for Preschoolers
This craft guides children through building an elephant shape entirely out of real leaves, which strengthens fine motor skills and the ability to follow a multi-step visual example while also connecting them to natural materials of different shapes and sizes. For three- to five-year-olds, arranging irregular natural objects into a recognizable picture is a more open-ended fine motor challenge than gluing pre-cut paper shapes, since leaves vary and require some problem-solving to fit together.

How to use this worksheet
Gather a handful of leaves in different shapes and sizes along with glue and a black sketch pen. Look at the example elephant together to see how the leaves are arranged — larger leaves for the body and ears, smaller ones for the trunk and legs. Have your child arrange the leaves on paper in a similar layout before gluing anything down, then glue each leaf in place once they're happy with the arrangement. Finish by drawing the elephant's eyes with the sketch pen.
