India Word Search Worksheet for Kids
Searching a letter grid for words connected to India, such as festival names, foods, or landmarks, builds visual scanning and word-recognition skills in children ages 4-7 while introducing vocabulary tied to Indian culture and geography. Because the target words vary in length and may run in different directions through the grid, children also practice sustained visual attention and letter-sequence tracking, both important pre-reading skills. How to use this worksheet
Look at the list of words to find and read each one aloud together, talking briefly about what it means if your child doesn't already know, such as what a particular festival or food is. Have your child scan the grid systematically, row by row, searching for the first letter of a word before tracing forward to confirm the rest of the letters match. Once a word is found, have them circle it and cross it off the word list. Continue until every word on the list has been located and circled.

- 2Cook or taste a simple Indian dish together and talk about its name and ingredients.
- 3Find India on a world map or globe and talk about its neighboring countries.
- 4Create a short list of five more India-related words and make a new word search grid together.
- 5Draw a picture representing one of the found words, such as a Diwali lamp or the Taj Mahal.
