How to use this worksheet
Look at the row of locks together first, and say the letter printed on each one aloud. Pick up one key and identify its letter, then scan across the locks to find the one showing the exact same letter. Once your child spots the match, have them draw a line connecting the key to its lock, or color both the same color to show the pair. Continue until every key has been matched to its correct lock.

- 1Use real (safe, unused) locks and keys around the house and let your child practice matching or trying keys.
- 2Draw additional locks and keys on blank paper using different letters your child is currently learning.
- 3Play an 'I spy' game hunting for objects around the house that start with the same letter as one of the keys.
- 4Make a simple treasure box that opens only when the right paper 'key' with a matching letter is found.
