Save Earth: A Cut and Paste Sorting Worksheet for Kids

How to use this worksheet
First, help your child cut out each small picture of a waste item from the bottom or side of the page, guiding their hand if scissor control is still developing. Look at each picture together and talk about what it is and whether it's wet waste, like food scraps, or dry waste, like paper or plastic. Once your child has decided, have them apply glue to the back of the picture and paste it into the matching bin printed on the page. Continue until every cutout item has been sorted and glued in its correct place.

If a category feels confusing, like a banana peel, explain simply that it's wet because it came from food and will break down naturally. Reinforce the idea afterward by narrating your own sorting choices during actual household cleanup, so the lesson carries beyond the worksheet.
