How to use this worksheet
Have your child cut out the animal shapes carefully along the outlines. Place a cutout animal shape on top of a plain sheet of paper. Dip a toothbrush in watered-down paint and gently flick or spray the color around the edges of the shape. Carefully lift the animal cutout away to reveal the silhouette left behind, then repeat with a different animal or color.

Talk through what's happening — the shape is blocking the paint just like it would block light — to connect the art to the science.
