Letter I Tracing Worksheet for Preschoolers
Uppercase I is one of the simplest letters — a single straight vertical line — making it a quick, confidence-building trace, while lowercase i adds a small dot above a short line, introducing the idea that some letters have a separate mark that belongs to them. How to use this worksheet
Point out the dotted uppercase I and lowercase i at the top of the page. Have your child trace the tall capital I first, then move to the lowercase i, tracing the short line and then adding the dot above it. Let them practice writing I and i independently on the lines below, checking that the dot is included on the lowercase form. Finish by naming a couple of words that start with I, like ice cream or insect.
