Punctuation Fun: Practice Using Punctuation Marks!

How to use this worksheet
Read the first sentence aloud together, pausing at the blank where a punctuation mark is missing, and ask your child whether the sentence sounds like a question, a statement, or an excited exclamation. Have your child choose and write the punctuation mark that fits, then read the sentence again with the mark in place to check that it sounds right. Move through each sentence on the page the same way, encouraging your child to read aloud before deciding on the punctuation. For the matching section, have your child draw a line connecting each sentence to its correct punctuation mark, checking their choices by reading the sentences aloud one more time.
