How to use this worksheet
Look at the ocean scene together first, pointing out the line or water level that divides 'above the sea' from 'below the sea.' Have your child count all the objects located above the sea line one at a time, pointing to each as they count, then write that total in the box provided. Repeat the process for the objects below the sea line, counting carefully and writing that total in its own box. Once both counts are complete, compare the two numbers together, talking about which group had more or fewer objects.

- 1Draw a simple scene with a line down the middle and place a few objects above and below it, then count each group.
- 2Go on a positional scavenger hunt around the house, naming objects that are 'above' or 'below' different furniture.
