Cut and Paste a Turtle Worksheet for Preschoolers
Children ages 3-5 build fine motor precision and shape recognition by cutting out individual geometric pieces and assembling them into a complete turtle picture. How to use this worksheet
Before cutting, look at the completed turtle example together and identify each shape used to build it. Have your child cut out the provided shapes along the dotted lines, offering help with any curved edges that are harder to manage. One at a time, ask them to name each shape and decide where it belongs on the turtle before applying glue and pressing it into place. When the turtle is fully assembled, let your child color it in using their favorite colors.

Cutting curves is significantly harder for small hands than cutting straight lines, so don't worry if the shapes come out a little rough — the goal is scissor practice, not precision. If your child struggles with gluing, try using a glue stick rather than liquid glue for more control. Name each shape out loud together as it's placed to reinforce shape vocabulary while keeping the activity playful.
