How to use this worksheet
Read each word problem aloud slowly, since the reading itself can be as challenging as the math for this age group. Ask your child to picture the scene in their mind or point to the picture provided, like frogs on lily pads. Have them count the objects mentioned in the problem, using fingers or the pictures on the page, to work out the total. Once they've found the answer, have them write the number in the box and read the completed problem back to check it makes sense.
