Letter V Tracing Worksheet: Practice Uppercase and Lowercase 'V'

How to use this worksheet
Show your child the dotted V and v and trace the two diagonal lines with a finger first, noting where they meet at the bottom point. Have them trace the dotted letter, slowing down at the point where the two lines meet so it comes to a clean angle rather than a rounded curve. Repeat the tracing on each line provided on the page for extra practice. Once they're comfortable, ask them to try writing V on their own on a separate sheet.

Tips for parents and teachers
Children at this age often round off the bottom point of the V into a curve out of habit from practicing letters like U — point out the difference and let them feel the sharp angle with a finger before writing it. Keep the diagonal lines roughly equal in length; very lopsided Vs are common early on and improve with repetition. Celebrate a clean point at the bottom as a specific, achievable milestone.
