Days of the Week Cut and Paste Worksheet for Kids

This worksheet reinforces the names and order of the days of the week by having children cut out each day and glue it into its correct place in the weekly sequence. For three- to five-year-olds, physically handling and arranging each day as a separate piece — rather than just reciting the order — gives them a concrete way to check and correct their own understanding of the sequence.

Curriculum

Number Sense > Counting 1-20

How to use this worksheet

Read the days of the week aloud together a few times before starting, so your child hears the full order. Have them cut out each day card from the bottom of the page. Ask them to find 'Sunday' first and glue it into the first box, then continue placing each following day in order, saying the day's name aloud as it's placed. Once finished, read through the completed week together from start to finish to check the order.

Materials needed

  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil

Extension activities

  • •Sing the days of the week song together to reinforce the sequence in a fun, memorable way.
  • •Create a simple paper calendar and mark off special days as they happen.
  • •Talk about what your family typically does on each day of the week.
  • •Play a quick game where you name a day and your child says what comes next.
  • •Make a weekly chore or activity chart labeled with each day for your child to check off.

Tips for parents and teachers

Encourage your child to say the days of the week out loud while completing the activity, since repeating the sequence aloud reinforces the order more than silently gluing the pieces. If the full week feels overwhelming, practice just the first few days first before working up to the full sequence.
