How to use this worksheet
Start with the drawing activity: show your child a flashcard of the letter S and ask them to draw objects that begin with that sound on paper or a slate. Next, gather a few real 'S' objects, like a sock, a spoon, or a stuffed toy, and take turns holding one up while your child says a full sentence about it, such as 'This is my sock.' Then play the counting-and-skipping game described on the page, saying numbers aloud and skipping every multiple of five, which keeps attention sharp between the phonics tasks. Finish with the drawing or coloring activity, such as the octopus, and ask your child to name it while emphasizing the 'S' sound.
