How to use this worksheet
Start with your child tracing the large model number 2, then work through the dotted numbers below it, saying 'two' with each trace. Have them color in the number 2 once traced. Next, move to the balloon groups and have your child count each group aloud, circling the set that has exactly two balloons. Finish by writing the number 2 independently in the empty boxes provided.

Tips for parents and teachers
Check that your child forms the 2 with the correct motion — a curve at the top followed by a flat base line — rather than drawing two separate disconnected strokes. If counting the balloons is tricky, have them touch each balloon as they count to build one-to-one correspondence. Praise the attempt at both tracing and counting equally, since combining the two skills is genuinely demanding at this age.
