A-Z Letter Sequence Worksheet: Fill in the Missing Letters!
By age 4-5, children move from reciting the alphabet by rote to actually recognizing individual letters out of sequence, and this fill-in-the-blank worksheet tests that deeper knowledge by asking them to supply missing capital letters in a scrambled order. How to use this worksheet
Start by reading the full alphabet together so your child hears the correct order before they begin. Point to the first sequence on the worksheet and help them identify which letters are already filled in and which boxes are empty. Have them say the alphabet quietly to themselves, counting forward from the last known letter until they reach the blank, then write the missing capital letter in the box. Repeat this process across the whole page, checking each answer together before moving to the next row.

- 1Write the alphabet on sticky notes, mix them up, and have your child put them back in order on a wall or floor.
- 2Play 'What comes next?' by saying a letter aloud and having your child shout out the one that follows.

- 4Hide alphabet magnets around a room and have your child find and arrange them in order on the fridge.
- 5Give your child a set of alphabet cards with a few removed and ask them to spot which letters are missing.
