How to use this worksheet
Read the list of properties given for a shape, such as '6 faces, 12 edges, 8 vertices,' out loud together. Have your child think about which 3D shape they've learned about matches that description. Ask them to draw a line connecting the property list to the correct shape shown in the options. Repeat for each set of properties, checking the answer together by counting the faces, edges, or vertices on the matched shape as a final check.

- 1Collect 3D objects around the house, like a ball, a box, and a can, and count their faces, edges, and vertices together.
- 2Build 3D shapes out of playdough and toothpicks, counting the edges as you insert each toothpick.

- 4Take a photo walk around the house looking for real-world examples of each 3D shape.
- 5Stack different 3D shapes to see which ones roll, which stack easily, and why.
