UKG Connect the Dots Worksheets (Ages 5–6)

It shows where the sequence breaks. A line drawn from 29 to 20 instead of 30 means the tens boundary is not secure; a jump from 13 to 15 means the teens need work; a hesitation at 40 or 50 points to the same thing further up. Lowercase alphabet versions reveal b, d, p and q confusions in the same way. Treat the sheet as a check and fix the gap it exposes with counting practice.

Five-year-olds count to 30 and then 50 through a picture, join lowercase letters a to z, count by 10s to 100, and count backwards from 20. Dots are denser and the outline is hidden until the end, so scanning has to be systematic. A pencil replaces the crayon and lines should be reasonably straight. A wrong line shows exactly which number the child is unsure of, which makes these sheets a useful check as well as practice. Before this stage a child should write most capital letters from memory, know the sound each letter makes, count objects accurately to twenty, and sit through a full worksheet without needing a break halfway through.

The sheets cover counting or sequencing in order, fine motor control drawing straight segments, letter or number recognition when dots are labeled and completing a picture from a sequence, which sit inside the NEP 2020 Foundational Stage (NCF-FS 2022) outcomes for UKG.
