Phonics Level 3 Long Vowels Activity Book for Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Phonics Level 3 is a printable long vowels activity book for children aged 5 to 7 in kindergarten, 1st grade, UKG or Year 1. It has 52 pages: a cover with a contents list, a parent's guide, three sound mats, 45 activity pages, a certificate of achievement and an answer key for grown-ups.

A long vowel says its own letter name, as in cake, bee, kite, boat and unicorn. Each long vowel has its own set of pages, one spelling at a time: long a (pages 6-14), long e (15-22), long i (23-30), long o (31-37) and long u (38-45). Children say the sound, colour, cut and paste, circle and write words, complete missing letters, read and find words in a word search and match pictures to spellings. Pages 46-50 mix long and short vowels for sorting.

Every activity page starts with a sound box showing the mouth shape and example words, so children hear, say, read and write each spelling. The sound mats cover consonants and short vowels, consonant digraphs and every long vowel spelling, and make a handy wall chart while children work through the book.

The parent's guide explains blending, split spellings like a_e and how to use each page, and the answer key on the last page makes checking quick. One or two pages a day is plenty. You need pencils, crayons, scissors and glue. Use it at home, in the classroom or for homeschooling, and print the whole book or only the pages you need.
