EYFS Mazes Worksheets (Ages 3–5)
EYFS mazes worksheets are practice sheets for children aged 3–5 in Early Years Foundation Stage in the UK. Mazes are printed paths a child follows with a pencil from a start point to an end point, choosing the correct route among dead ends. The sheets on this page cover visual tracking along a path, planning a route before moving the pencil and pencil control around turns.
The Early Years Foundation Stage spans Nursery and Reception and treats a worksheet as a small supplement to play rather than the main event. Mark making, matching and sorting dominate the Nursery year; Reception adds letter formation, sound matching and counting to ten as phonics teaching begins in earnest. A maze for a three-year-old is a single wide path with no wrong turns: a puppy at one end, its bowl at the other, and a track wide enough for a crayon. Five to ten minutes at a table, with an adult alongside to talk through the sheet, is enough at any point in this stage. Use a worksheet to echo something already met through play that week rather than to introduce a brand new idea.
Start with the sheet that matches what your child can already do, then move one step up. Keep finished sheets in a folder: EYFS teachers often ask for evidence of practice, and children like seeing their own progress.

Frequently asked questions
My three-year-old just scribbles across the maze. What should I do?
The maze is too narrow or has choices in it. Drop back to a single path as wide as two fingers with no branches, ask the child to run a finger along it first, then hand over a chunky crayon. Laminating a few of these lets them be repeated with a wipe-off marker. Staying inside a path is the whole skill at three; choosing between paths comes at four.
